Helping Create Financial Freedom Since 2000
The Center for Financial Education ministry was founded by Jan Henryson in 2000, first starting in her home and then renting an office from Atlas of Sioux Center. She wanted to help people find financial hope by teaching them to manage their finances. But it wasn’t only about guiding people in finding financial freedom, Jan believed faith and finances go hand in hand. She believed in letting God work through her for His good, a value her dad instilled in her.
CFE has grown since its days in Jan’s home and the Atlas office. Today, our main office is in Sioux Center with satellite offices in Le Mars, Orange City, Hawarden, and Rock Rapids. Our staff has grown to 6, and our client list has grown from just 5 to hundreds.
Our services have also increased. We now not only offer financial education to individuals and families, but we are also appointed by the Social Security Administration to serve as Representative Payees to those unable to manage their own finances. We also offer community outreach and financial education classes to local businesses and agencies.
But our goal has remained the same — transforming lives through Christ-based financial education. Our services continue to be offered free of charge and are available to anyone in need.
